The principle of nitrogen generator applied in metallurgy and metal processing
The application principle of nitrogen generators in metallurgy and metal processing is mainly based on pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology. The nitrogen generator uses air as raw material and carbon molecular sieves as adsorbents to separate high-purity nitrogen gas from the air through the principle of pressure swing adsorption. The specific process is as follows:
Working principle: The nitrogen generator utilizes the selective adsorption characteristics of carbon molecular sieves for oxygen and nitrogen, and achieves nitrogen oxygen separation through a cyclic process of pressurized adsorption and depressurized desorption. When compressed air enters the carbon molecular sieve adsorption tower, oxygen and nitrogen are adsorbed simultaneously, but due to the small molecular diameter and fast diffusion rate of oxygen, the adsorption capacity of oxygen is relatively high. By controlling the pressure changes, nitrogen enrichment can be achieved, thereby obtaining high-purity nitrogen gas.
Application scenario: In metallurgy and metal processing, nitrogen generators are mainly used for controlling the protective atmosphere. Nitrogen, as a protective gas, can prevent oxidation reactions between workpieces and oxygen in the air at high temperatures, thereby protecting the surface quality of workpieces. In addition, nitrogen is also used in welding, heat treatment and other processes to provide an inert gas environment, reducing oxidation and pollution.
Technical parameters and equipment composition: The key components of the nitrogen generator include air compressor, carbon molecular sieve adsorption tower, control system, etc. The air compressor provides high-pressure air, and the carbon molecular sieve adsorption tower separates nitrogen and oxygen. The control system ensures the stable operation of the equipment. The entire system is controlled by PLC to achieve automated operation, alternating between pressurized adsorption and depressurization regeneration, ensuring efficient and stable nitrogen production.
Maintenance and troubleshooting: The maintenance of the nitrogen generator includes regular replacement of carbon molecular sieves and filters, inspection of system leaks, and ensuring the normal operation of the equipment. Common faults include carbon molecular sieve failure, filter blockage, etc., which require timely maintenance and replacement of related components.
